How To Install Mods and CC

The process to install Sims 4 CC is not complicated. But, to make sure everything goes without a hitch, we will guide you through each step of the installation for both mods and CC.

In order to start using mods and CC for Sims 4, you will first need to download them. Luckily, there are many websites that offer a variety of Mods and CC for Sims 4.

You can click the ‘download here’ link on any of my blog posts to be directed directly to the cc or mod or you can search on sites like modthesims or thesimsresources

Most mods and CC come in ZIP, RAR files, or .package format.

If it downloads as a ZIP or RAR file, you will need to extract the contents before you can use them. If it downloads as a .package file, it can go straight into your cc folder just like that.

To extract files I recommend using one of these WinRAR and 7-Zip for windows computers and Unarchive on a mac

Next, you will need to locate your Sims 4 folder. To do this, open File Explorer and click on This PC. Then, look for Local Disk (C:) users then documents, Electronic Arts, The Sims 4, and Mods.

If the Mods folder is missing from your sims 4 folder, don’t worry! You can easily create one called Mods.

Creating a new folder on your computer is easy, and here’s a quick video tutorial on how to do it if you’re not sure where to start:

Now that you have found your Sims 4 folder, it is time to move the files you downloaded into the Mods section. You can do this easily by dragging and dropping your files into the Mods folder.

Mods will sometimes include a script file, but all other files that are downloaded or unzipped will appear as a .package file

If you download a file that contains a script, be sure to place it in your sims 4 mods folder too; otherwise, the downloaded mod won’t work.

By following the steps above, you have now installed Sims 4 mods and CC like a pro!

It’s possible to have subfolders within your Mods, but, it’s recommended that you only go one level deep. Your mods folder could include subfolders for kitchens, bedrooms clothes, etc.

You can easily make additional subfolders within folders by editing a few settings. I have never done it before, but here is a helpful guide on how to do so:
